Description

Wren's ideal home

Due to her past Wren is looking for adopters who will be patient and understand that it will take time for her to settle in and feel safe in her new home, adopters with a calm lifestyle, with minimal visitors especially when she first goes home, so she has time and space to adjust. She is looking for an adult only home as she will need her own space to rest and a space to eat in where she will not be disturbed or taken by surprise. Although Wren is dog sociable she cannot live with any other pets as she has Leishmania, she would however benefit from calm and polite walking buddies further down the line when she is settled in and ready to explore the world. She is looking for a home in a quiet village location or cul-de-sac with minimal traffic ready for when she is ready to go out for walks. Wren will need gentle toilet training in her new home so will need access to a private, fully secure garden to explore and potter around in at her own pace. She can settle nicely alone and may be able to be left for up to 2-4 hours once settled in but this should be introduced slowly once she has had time to get used to her new home and routine. Wren is on long term medication, adopters will need to bear this in mind when applying. She will need to meet his adopters multiple times prior to going home and may need a home trial to make sure she is settling in nicely. Please note that should you be shortlisted, our rehoming process usually takes 7-10 days, but this can be longer depending on the needs of the dog.

Could you be Wren's perfect match?

Sweet little Wren is a 3 year old black and brown smooth haired Dachshund. She finds the big wide world quite a worrying place, she does have a playful side which is itching to come out and with some time and a safe and comfortable home to build up her confidence, her personality will begin to show. She does enjoy her food and will engage with her environment with the help of a tasty treat. She loves to work her brain and enjoys doing puzzle games and enrichment in places she feels safe, she is very observant and loves to watch the world go by. If you think you could provide Wren with a safe, patient and loving home, why not apply to adopt.

Dachshund Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Dachshund.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 6 months, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
