Magnus's ideal home

Meet Magnus! He’s a gorgeous young Dachshund with tonnes of character and a lot of love to give. It doesn’t take him too long to build up a friendship, spend a short amount of time with him and before you know it, he’ll have jumped in your lap for a cuddle! However, he does prefer gentler tactile interactions and isn’t a fan of rough and tumble style play/ handling. Originally found as a stray, Magnus has had a lot of uncertainty to face at such an early age. Because of this, he can find new environments overwhelming and can be a sensitive boy at times. Seeing other dogs nearby can be frustrating for him, and he seems to lack in social skills. In time, it would be beneficial to support Magnus with his socialisation around other dogs to build up his confidence. In the initial stages of settling in, it is best to walk him in quieter areas, where he can avoid bumping into lots of other dogs and he will need to be the only pet at home. Owing to his sensitive side and the lack of information we have about his history, we feel that Magnus would best be suited to a home with secondary-school aged children.

Magnus absolutely LOVES his food and is always keen to receive treats, which he always takes gently. He has shown some interest in toys since his arrival in our care, especially with a squeaky teddy, but we feel his playful side will blossom as he settles into some home comforts. His favourite thing of all is spending quality time with his favourite people, and he’s bound to make for a very loyal and loving companion to his forever family!
